William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) was a French academic painter, unquestionably one of history’s greatest artistic geniuses. His themes were mainly mythological executed in the Realist style, making modern interpretations of classical subjects, with an emphasis on the female human body.

His work has always mesmerized me, by the timeless beauty and utterly sublime quality of details. Here are some of my favorites:
